Android phones and smartwatches from Samsung are receiving updates this week, while there is bad news for Nokia 9 PureView users. In addition, Fairphone is starting the Android 10 beta for the Fairphone 2.
Nokia
Originally, Android 11 was supposed to be released for the Nokia 9 PureView in the 3rd quarter of 2021. As HDM Global, the company behind the Nokia phones, now explains, you can no longer count on an update. The camera and the software are said to be incompatible.
Fairphone
The manufacturer Fairphone is rolling out the Android 10 beta for the Fairphone 2. The final version should be distributed next year. In addition, the Android 11 beta for the Fairphone 3 will start shortly.
Samsung
Samsung is now opening the One UI 4.0 beta program for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10. So far, only the smartphones of the Galaxy S21 series and some folding phones could participate. The new user interface One UI 4.0 is already based on Android 12.
New firmware is available for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch. This includes improvements to fall detection and 10 new watch faces that were introduced with the Galaxy Watch 4.
Xiaomi
There is currently confusion as to which Android version the upcoming MIUI 13 user interface from Xiaomi is based on. Some devices get MIUI 13 with Android 11, while other phones get Android 12. We have broken this down for you in the linked article.
Android Auto
You should now also be able to use the dual SIM function with Android Auto. So far this has not been possible. When calling or texting you can now choose which SIM card you want to use.
