Faced with financial challenges, the video game industry is systematically trying to keep its ongoing projects top secret. Fortunately, job postings can sometimes tell you what the future holds. And since that seems to be the zeitgeist, Sony could work on a remake for the PS5.
Last spring, the industry’s best-informed journalist published an article claiming that a remake of The Last of Us on PS5 would be in development, not without lifting the veil behind the scenes of the project, that of Will des visuals was born. The Arts Service Group’s studio will rise to the top of the range. Since those revelations, Sony has been careful to maintain a largely monastic silence on the matter, but a recently published vacancy could support this thesis.
Wanted dead or alive
PlayStation Studios is currently hiring a technical game designer in San Diego. The profile was published two days ago on LinkedIn hopes to recruit a developer with “an appetite for third-person action-adventure games”
Responsibilities:
– Implement existing gameplay systems in a new framework
– Improve existing level scripts and their interactions
– Prototyping and refinement of game functions.
Between the lines, the current development seems to be based on an existing material that would have to be revised to make it contemporary again. In other words … a remake. PlayStation Studios’ offering is of course careful not to evoke any of the nature of the project, so relying on speculation to guess what title might one day hit PS5.
According to Jason Schreier, the Visual Arts Service Group studio would have gradually abandoned their remake project of The Last of Us, and the latter would be right in the hands of Naughty Dog, who is already familiar with The We are busy with Part II.
