The PS Plus Premium service has a nice surprise in store for its European subscribers. Originally announced for its American counterpart, a real cult game is finally coming to us.
The game in question that’s set to launch on PS Plus Premium was leaked last week and it’s of course the iconic MediEvil! This PS1 monument therefore appears on the PlayStation subscription service and is fully compatible with PS4 and PS5. This isn’t the only PS1 classic that’s delighting subscribers.
An iconic surprise addition from the PS1 to the PS Plus Premium
This is one of the biggest attractions of PS Plus Premium from PlayStation’s subscription service. This allows nostalgic fans to play an ever-growing catalog of cult games from the PS1 to the PS3. Since yesterday it has been the striking MediEvil in its PS1 version that has honored him with its illustrious presence. Originally released in 1998, the title, developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Cambridge, defined its time.
We play Sir Daniel Fortesque, a brave knight who died long ago but was mysteriously brought back to life. He must use this second chance to once again face the forces of evil and thwart the plans of a terribly evil wizard. To defeat formidable enemies, he can count on an arsenal full of weapons. On classic paper, MediEvil made a name for itself primarily through the unusual depiction of its world, which mixed horror and humor with mastery.
Another notable addition from the PS1 era
MediEvil didn’t just appear on PS Plus Premium. Another well-known PS1 game was also invited to the party. This is Star Wars Rebel Assault 2: The Hidden Empire, a rail shooter developed by LucasArts and released in 1995. Since yesterday, the PS Plus in its Extra and Premium versions also welcomed the excellent NEXON title Dave the Diver. And the very good additions are far from finished this month.
The next additions to look out for include Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, a promising Metroidvania under the EA Originals label. It will be released on April 23rd, also for the Extra and Premium versions of PS Plus. Something to keep you busy while you wait, in particular, for the PS5’s next flagship exclusive, scheduled for April 26: Stellar Blade.
