Users have been reporting problems with AOL since late Monday evening. Obviously there seems to be a major disruption in the underlying user management, which is suggested by a parallel disruption in Yahoo Mail.
The disruption is not regionally limited and does not only affect AOL’s mail service. The error reports are also piling up with Yahoo Mail – which suggests a major problem in the Yahoo/AOL backend.
So far, neither Yahoo nor AOL has commented on the disruption. You can track when the disruption levels off here.
