After some of his past remarks surfaced, Respawn fired the lead developer of Apex Legends.
Daniel Z. Klein, formerly the chief game designer Apex Legend Developer Respawn was fired after the blog post he wrote in 2007 was discovered.These posts led Klein to call women’s “idiot chromosomes” “irrational” and other Compare his African neighbors to animals.
Screenshots of the blog post from last month circulated online, prompting Klein Admit it was written by him and Apologize then.
“I have full ownership of what I say, and I feel embarrassed, sad, and angry with my young self saying these things. I hope it’s obvious that I don’t believe these things anymore,” Klein wrote on Twitter .
When these posts came to light, EA told Fanbyte that its human resources department was investigating. A few days later, Klein was fired.
The game designer announced the news in a message Lengthy Twitter thread
“To be clear, I am not saying that EA or Respawn did anything improper. They have every right to fire me, although I may not agree with this decision.”
Finally, I am really sorry for the Apex team. This is a headache they don’t need. I know what their future plans are, and I absolutely believe that Apex has a bright future. There are a lot of cool things coming. I just hope I can work hard for this.

Klein’s outspoken nature and his game design views on character balance in Apex Legends are likely to cause some of them to dig into his old blog to ruin him.
Nonetheless, it is understandable that EA and any other gaming company today want to nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem, especially since rival Activision Blizzard is currently processing large-scale lawsuits against it in California.
