There are currently more players in Apex Legends on Steam than ever before. With the Legacy update and the new Arenas mode, the maximum number of simultaneously active players on Steam rose to over 330,000.
However, fans of the battle royale shooter also suffered two overpowering weapons: The Bocek bow and the Spitfire machine gun.
A new patch has now addressed this problem. Both the mighty Bocek battle bow and the Spitfire LMG were made sensitively weakened. You can read below what exactly has been changed.
These nerfs met Bocek and Spitfire
Anyone who plays Apex Legends now should experience a better weapon balance. These changes have been made:
Bocek
The Bocek combat bow now causes less damage on body hits, is somewhat slower to operate overall and players can no longer carry as much ammunition with them. These are the bare numbers:
- Body Hit Damage: 60 (previously 70)
- Charging time: Increased to 0.56 seconds (from 0.54)
- Deadeye Tempo Recharge Time: Increased to 0.38 seconds (up from 0.32)
- Munition: Reduced to 14 (previously 16)
- Inventarmunition: Reduced to 28 (previously 48)
Spitfire
The Spitfire light machine gun now deals less damage per shot. In addition, the damage per second is reduced by reducing the maximum magazine size. Specifically, developer Respawn made the following adjustments in Apex Legends:
- Damage per shot: 18 (previously 19)
- Purple and Gold Magazine Size: 50 (previously 55)

With that, the two overpowering weapons in Apex Legends should now be noticeably weaker. But whether the Nerf is sufficient can only be said with certainty after the changes have been tried out in live operation for a while.
