PlayStation 5 users may not have to wait longer to get a native version Apex Legends, according to file information found on PSN.
According to PlayStationSize, while looking for updates via PSN, found a PS5 entry with a download size over 80GB and no updates.
That could mean a PS5 version of the game is on the way, which also means you might expect the Xbox Series X/S version to arrive around the same time, if not the same day.
The game is already backwards compatible with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but the native version will be better because the consoles have faster load times, higher resolutions, and better frame rates.
Respawn has said in the past that a next-gen version of the shooter is in the works, and EA has also confirmed this. Also, cross-play across gaming platforms is also in the works, so this nice little feature might be coming with the next-gen version. You never know.
The internet seems to think that season 12 is when the native version might drop. A release date for the season has yet to be set, but with the current Battle Pass, Season 11 is expected to end around February 8. So, it might end soon.
We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we determine when the next-gen version will be released.
