Netflix has finally released the full trailer for Arcane Season 2, and while it looks great, it comes with some news that might disappoint some people.
Now, before you get too upset, the first trailer for Arcane Season 2 still says the show is coming in November, so you don’t have to worry about that. But according to Netflix, this is “the final chapter of Arcane.” Yes, I know a lot of you loved Season 1 and will likely enjoy Season 2, but for those of you who love the wider world of League of Legends, there’s good news! “Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and our partnership with the amazing animation studio Fortiche,” co-creator Christian Linke also shared in a recent League of Legends Developer Update.
“From the beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very clear ending in mind, which meant that Arcane’s story would end in season two. But Arcane is just the first of many stories we want to tell in Runeterra.”
Season 2 looks like it’s just a continuation of the previous season, and I won’t spoil it if you haven’t seen it yet, but Vi does go looking for her sister Jinx. As you can see in the trailer above, the two will apparently reunite, although it won’t be a loving reunion. Animation-wise, everything looks just as beautiful again, because a big part of the show’s appeal for many people is its outstanding 3D style.

Neither Riot nor Netflix have hinted at which part of Runeterra will be adapted into an animated series next, and you may have to wait until Arcane Season 2 wraps up to hear that news, but at least you’ll be able to watch the first season on DVD or Blu-ray later this year.
