from the software coming soon Armored Core 6: Rubicon Fire Already rated in Korea, which only makes the wait harder.
The sixth entry in FromSoftware’s mecha customization series has received a rating in South Korea, Gematsu found. The game has a rating of 12+ in the region, which sounds a little low, but different regions rate things differently depending on what each country may or may not consider appropriate for a certain age group . The age rating does indicate that the game is in development ready for a rating, and it’s due out this year, so we might have a release date soon. Many games are accidentally revealed because they were rated in Korea, and often receive a release date soon after the rating is passed.
We haven’t seen anything about Armored Core 6 since it was revealed at The Game Awards last year. A report last month said the game would launch sometime between September and October, apparently before the Elden Ring DLC was announced in February. Fans of the Souls series shouldn’t expect the series to be just Dark Souls with mechs, as Armored Core 6 will stick to its roots of quest-based gameplay and customizing your mechs – though it will also have big boss fights to make you bear.
The last game in the series, Armored Core: Verdict Day (a direct sequel to Armored Core 5), was released in 2013, a full 10 years after a new game was released. Since the series’ success, FromSoftware has been focusing more on games like Dark Souls, often offering hard reaction-based gameplay. Armored Core 6 promises a refreshing change of pace from the developer’s usual approach, and with FromSoftware at the helm, it will certainly be interesting to see how the series might change with a decade-plus of experience under its belt.
