Armored Core 6 Reportedly Released Ahead of Elden Ring DLC

In a report by Exputer, sources revealed that the planned release window for Armored Core 6: Fire of Rubicon is between September and October of this year.

First unveiled at The Game Awards 2022, Armored Core 6 received an epic trailer that was sure to get Armored Core fans jumping out of their seats. For many, this is the long-awaited return of the last Armored Core game – Armored Core 5 – released in 2012 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Exputer has spoken to sources close to the developer, and as always, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. “Sources have now revealed that developers have planned a release window for Armored Core 6 between September and October,” it said.

The report continues, “Barring further internal delays, the game has a better chance of launching in late September.”

It’s also been said that FromSoftware intends to release Armored Core 6 first, followed by the highly anticipated Elden Ring DLC, which was just announced this week, Shadow of Erdtree.

Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki and Armored Core 6 producer Masaru Yamamura detailed what players should expect from the game in a post-launch interview about Armored Core 6.

Unsurprisingly, customizing your mechs is a key part of Armored Core 6, but players shouldn’t expect any Soulsborne-style gameplay: “No, we haven’t made a conscious attempt to channel this into more Soulsborne-type games. First of all , let me be clear,” Miyazaki explained.

Armored Core fans have been waiting a long time, so I’m sure it won’t hurt to wait a few more months. Are you looking forward to seeing the series make a comeback with Rubicon Fire?

Personally, I’ll be patiently waiting for Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree to release, but there’s no denying that the mech combat at the armored core looks pretty strong.
