In August last year, From Software released Armore Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The new part of the long-standing series turned out to be successful – and so From Software is now indicating that the franchise will continue in the future.
Even after the release of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, the action franchise will apparently continue. Although Armored Core VII is not currently in the works, the game series appears to have a future.
Opposite IGN JapaHidetaka Miyazaki, President of From Software, has now spoken out and signaled a “strong willingness” to continue Armored Core in the future. Although last year’s Armored Core VI was a success, Miyazaki still sees room for improvement. “Not everything was perfect,” the designer said, which is why he’s “determined not to stop yet” when it comes to Armored Core games.
Miyazaki’s full statement: “I think that Armored Core 6 was a success. On the other hand, not everything was perfect and there is still room for improvement, so I am determined not to stop at this point. Despite all this, so far Nothing specific decided.”
Despite the promising statement, a new series part has not yet received the green light and is therefore not yet in the works. Rather, From Software is currently focused on completing the major expansion “Shadow of the Erdtree” for the successful title Elden Ring. This recently received a first trailer and a specific release date of June 21, 2024.
Armored Core fans should at least hope that there won’t be another ten-year gap until the next title, as was the case between Verdict Day and Fires of Rubicon. There has never been a longer gap between two series spin-offs than in this case.
