Through a Interview we learn many details about Project Artemis, which was announced several years ago. Playerunknown productions wants to achieve big goals with new technologies and create a huge open world.
What are Prologue and Project Artemis?
Until now, we knew very little about Project Artemis. Announced in 2018, the game only showed a short teaser trailer, which you can check out here:

Prologue – First clip of the new game from the PUBG inventor raises many questions
Last project manager Brendan Greene then reported back with a demo
baldappear, but there is no release date yet.
In an interview with PC Gamer, the PUBG inventor reveals a lot more about Artemis, which he himself doesn’t want to call a game, but rather a emergent space
:
- Gigantic World: Artemis is actually said to be as big as an entire planet. This is made possible by landscapes procedurally generated with the help of AI, which also look quite lifelike in the first pictures:
- Climate and wildlife simulation: The vast world of Artemis is said to be alive. Climate and weather, as well as entire wild animal populations are simulated. If you exterminate all wolves in a forest, this can lead to an increase in the deer population.
- Survival and Civilization Building: According to Greene, it is up to the players what they do in the world. But gameplay elements that we know from survival games are planned. We can explore, hunt, fish, found a village with other players or do our own activities
invent
.
- KI-Helfer: If we want to build a city, we will probably have NPCs at our side who collect resources or craft items for us. If our founded village grows, we should then be able to fall back on more helpers and claim larger areas.
- Claim Territories via Blockchain: The unpopular blockchain technologies could also be used in Artemis. Although nobody should be able to buy unclaimed areas with cryptocurrency, players can sell areas that they have previously claimed themselves.
What Artemis looks like in the end, even Greene doesn’t really seem to know at the moment. It will probably be some time before we see anything more concrete.
What do you think of Project Artemis? Does the concept sound interesting to you, or does the mention of blockchain put an end to all interest?
