Stranger Things is finally coming to an end, and Netflix has lined up a project with the Duffer Brothers as executive producers.
Currently, Stranger Things is filming its fifth and final season, which will cap off a nearly 10-year journey that really helped Netflix become an overnight sensation (not that it wasn’t doing well before). Now, Deadline reports that Netflix has greenlit a new horror series, with Stranger Things creators the Duffer Brothers set to serve as executive producers. The new series is being created by Hayley Z. Boston, who is best known for writing for another Netflix series, All New Cherry, and an episode of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, so the showrunner is no stranger to horror.

The show is called There’s Going to Be Trouble, and I’m guessing it’s going to live up to its title. Its official synopsis goes like this: “There’s Going to Be Trouble is a wedding-set horror drama that follows a bride and groom in the week leading up to their ill-fated wedding. This isn’t a spoiler – just read the title…” Weddings are nerve-wracking enough on their own, so hearing this Romeo and Juliet-esque warning that there’s going to be trouble had me on the edge of my seat from the start (as long as it wasn’t a bunch of bullshit).
“We were blown away when we first read Hayley’s script,” the Duffer Brothers said in a statement. “She is a talented newcomer with a unique style—her writing is twisted, scary, funny, and…very Hayley. We are so lucky to be producing her first feature, and we can’t wait to share her vision with the world.”
Aside from the above, there are no other details about the show, so don’t expect it to be released anytime soon. The same goes for Stranger Things season 5, although that is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
