Tandem Mouse celebrates its debut in Pokemon Go as part of the “Better Together” event in July 2024.

The Gen 9 Normal Type has a single evolution, Mouseholdwhich can also be added to your Pokédex with enough candies.

When it debuts, Tandem Mouse is not available in the wild – making it harder for those looking to evolve it to catch multiples than most new Pokémon. Here’s how to get Tandem Mouse during the Better Together event in Pokemon Go, including Maushold’s rare form “Family of Three”.

After its debut at the Better Together event in July 2024, you can watch Tandemaus from the following sources:

  • Free Better Together Timed Research Reward (between July 17 and 22)
  • Paid Grow Together Timed Research Reward (between July 17 and September 3)
  • Fieldwork tasks during the Better Together event (17-22 July)
  • Rewards for the “If You’re Lucky” Party Play Challenge (July 17-22)

To sum up, Tandem Mouse does not appear in the wild or in eggs, meaning that in addition to the Timed Research rewards, you will also need to complete Timed Research or Challenges in Party Play.

It’s unknown if Tandem Mouse will still be around after the Better Together event concludes on Monday, July 22, so it’s worth focusing on the activities above to make sure it’s added to your Pokédex.

To bring in Maushold Pokemon Go, you have to evolve Tandem Mouse with 50 Candy.

Since the number of Timed Research encounters is limited, you’ll need to focus on the rewards from Field Research and Party Game Challenges. Otherwise, you can still make up the difference with Rare Candies.

In Pokémon Scarlet and VioletWhen Tandem Mouse evolves, there is a small chance (estimated at 1 in 100) that Mousehold will take the form of a “family of three”, i.e. consisting of three Tandem Mouse instead of the usual four.

In Pokemon Goit seems to work just as well, thanks to this confirmation by Occhan157043 on X (formerly Twitter).

The chance to receive the “Family of Three” form, Pokemon Go is unknown, but either way, the silhouette in the evolution preview gives no indication of what shape you will get – suggesting that the result is random.

Can Tandem Mouse be shiny in Pokémon Go?

In his debut, Tandemaus cannot shine in Pokemon GoThe length of time a Pokémon has a shiny variant varies considerably, so we would hesitate to guess when it might appear.

However, you can already see how shiny Tandem Mouse looks thanks to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as in this Video by NativeMarshadow. As shown, the difference is unfortunately very, very small.
