For those who don't know, you can improve your class by taking one of the two tests available in Path of Exile 2:

• Sekhemas' ordeal
• The trial against chaos

Each of these events offers 4 levels of difficulty. 2 points are awarded for each test level. The promotion can be completed with the event of your choice, although the requirements vary depending on the level of difficulty and the number of promotion points already invested.

The different stages of class lineage in PoE 2

Ascension in Path of Exile 2 is not immediate and it can be difficult to understand the progression. Here you will find a detailed overview to help you better understand the process, the exams and their requirements, but also how to earn Ascendancy points.

First lineage

You get your first two lineage points by defeating the various bosses in Path of Exile 2's campaign. Getting the first few points is relatively easy to understand, as the Rise to Power quest is given to you after defeating Balbala, the Traitor, or Xyclucian, the Chimera.

Second ancestor

Now, to get two additional points and have 4 points in your family tree, you need to advance in Cruelty Mode to get higher level zones.

• Ultimatum engraved : Level 60+ zone with 7 events to complete

On the second climb It is possible to overcome a combination of difficulties. For example, you can choose to complete Level 1 of both tests (Sekhemas and Chaos) to get 4 points. You then have to complete the 3rd difficulty of one of the exams to get the 5th and 6th points. Requirements vary depending on the event you select, but you must complete the events at least in level 45+ or 60+ areas, depending on your choice.

Third lineage

As with the previous points, you can no longer get baryas on bumps; You must venture into high-level areas to eliminate monsters. The fall of Baryas is always accidental.

• Barya is not a jinn. : Level 60+ area with 3 floors to complete
• Ultimatum engraved : Zone from level 75 with 10 events to complete

However, there is a bit of subtlety in the third climb; You have to choose between two options:

• The Sekhemas Test (3 floors) in a level 60+ area
• The Trial of Chaos (10 trials) in a level 75+ zone

Fourth lineage

The fourth climb is the most difficult. To do this, you must complete the Trial of Sekhemas by defeating the final boss in a level 75+ zone, or complete the Trial of Chaos by facing and defeating the Trial Master, the final boss. However, it is important to note that this climb is currently buggy and it is possible that the climb will not trigger correctly even if attempted successfully.

The Ascension Trials in Path of Exile 2 are notorious for being difficult to complete. Therefore, we advise you not to rush into performing these tests. So the first advice we can give ourselves is to get a few more levels before starting the exams. Since the tests do not adapt to your character level, you may well take the time to gain strength before retaking the tests.

Then, although it may seem logical, There is one element that we often neglect: relics. The further you progress through the lineage levels, the more relics you will collect. Here we recommend that you regularly take stock of your relics in order to choose those that will give you a real advantage in battle.

Finally, one last piece of advice: We strongly advise you not to make your eyes bigger than your stomach when it comes to rewards. It should be noted that the tests that offer the best rewards are those that unfortunately impose a significant disadvantage on your character (Sekhemas test).. Therefore, try to adjust the route you want to take and avoid penalties as much as possible.
