Whether the Assassin's Creed Shadow is the game that Ubisoft needs remains to be seen, but the RPG's moves obviously do a good job for publishers. The Shadow was released less than a week ago and attracted 2 million people two days before the release.

But, according to the new information, the shadow launch is solid even if the title is worth a little.

In an internal memo obtained by Variety and VGC, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin's Creed Shadow has seen a “record level” of player participation and “incredibly positive” feedback from players.

Sources also told the media that Shadows has the second day of sales revenue in any Assassin's Creed, just behind Valhalla. It is worth noting that Ubisoft does not share difficult sales numbers in public or internal communications.

Ubisoft also noted in the memo that Shadows have the best day in any game in the PlayStation store. The game also has strong performance on PC, with the platform responsible for 27% of the game player base. Steam is said to be a major contributor, which is particularly noteworthy, as Shadows is the first Assassin's Creed to launch on Steam and above with Ubisoft's own store and Epic Games store since 2019.

On Steam, the shadows start at the peak with 41,412 players. The positive tone around the game made it gain more players over the weekend, now reaching 64,825 (via SteamDB).

Of course, Assassin's Creed Valhalla won a big boost due to the 2020 pandemic and showed up in the fall, not in March. However, this seems to be the best case for shadows.
