Ubisoft has released new trailers for Assassin's Creed Shadows – and the background to the new shift were also public.

Assassin's Creed Shadows should have been available long ago, but has been postponed several times. The action hopeful not only slipped out of 2024, but has so far continued to be delayed in 2025. Most recently, the release date was moved from February to March 20, 2025. But why all that?

So far it was said again and again that the game wanted to avoid the fate of Star Wars Outlaws, which had to fight with some problems for the start and was ultimately noticeable behind the expectations. But further fine work and bug fixing are apparently not the only reasons for the shift.

Game Director Charles Benoit recently became even clearer in a chat as for the topic and went beyond the mere “polishing” on the grounds. In this way, the development team had once again devoted itself to the parkour system in detail, because this was quite challenging in Assassin's Creed Shadows due to the presentation of the roof of the houses in the feudal Japan.

“The Japanese architecture, the houses are super complex. This may be the most complex thing I have ever worked on when you compare it to Odyssey or Syndicate. We need special codes and specific animations,” said Benoit. “It was a specific feedback that we registered and that we wanted to address, and it has really improved in the past few months.”

It is to be hoped that there will be no further shifts and that it will remain on March 20, 2025 if the game is now to be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Ubisoft published the story trailer last night – as promised – to get you in the mood, which is supposed to familiarize you with the plot of Assassin's Creed Shadows.

In addition, a short clip was shown on Twitter that shows the first scenes from the planned DLC after the actual publication. This additional content, which will be relatively extensive, can secure pre -orders of the action game without additional costs.
