There’s no better way to start than with a gift: the mission To the Dogspreviously exclusive to pre-orders, is now available for free.

In this quest, you’ll help a loyal dog avenge its master’s death, which also lets you unlock Tsuki-maru as a decorative pet for the protagonists’ Hideout.

This side mission is unlocked after completing From Spark to Flame and can be found at the Tennoji Temple, on the outskirts of Osaka.

Supernatural Horror Arrives with the Dead by Daylight Event

A ghostly threat spreads panic in Harima: villagers are disappearing without a trace, and Naoe must investigate what seems to be a glimpse into another world.

This crossover begins with a free mission accessible from the Hideout once Yasuke has been unlocked. If you survive the horror, you’ll be rewarded with an exclusive charm and banner.

Additionally, the event is complemented by a new customization pack in the store, featuring outfits, weapons, trinkets, and the chance to ride Maurice—the iconic spectral horse from Dead by Daylight

Naoe and Yasuke can also equip a legendary item inspired by Balatro the Winning Hand trinket, which grants random affliction effects at the end of combos. Ubisoft has issued a challenge, though—the community must figure out how to obtain it.

Parkour and Photo Mode Improvements

This update also introduces a new vertical jump: both Naoe and Yasuke can now launch directly toward low ledges without needing to wall-run.

Additionally, sprinting no longer breaks during Upward or Downward Parkour, as long as you maintain direction.Side and back ejects now have greater range.

Virtual photographers will be pleased: Photo Mode gets its biggest revamp in Assassin’s Creed history. New features include:

  • Time-of-day adjustments

  • Poses, expressions, and facial gestures

  • Custom music for edits

  • Frames, filters, and stickers with more color options

  • Toggleable accessories like helmets

  • Improved preview and fullscreen mode (on PC)

Bug Fixes and Balance Changes

Multiple bugs have been fixed, such as persistent notifications, corrupted save files, and nonsensical desync warnings.

As for balance, weapons have been reworked, and the resource economy has been redesigned: completing contracts is now more profitable than directly buying materials from merchants.

Feudal Japan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to evolve, and update 1.0.5 marks another step forward in making it one of the most versatile entries in the saga.
