There is another sign of life for the unusual shooter Atomic Heart – and what a sign. A three-minute trailer not only shows fight scenes, but also a bizarre game world.
There are still a lot of questions about Atomic Heart. For example when the game will be released. A specific date h as not yet been set, so far the statement for the fourth quarter of 2022 has been buzzing through the room, also confirmed by an Easter Egg in an earlier trailer. The question is also open as to whether the game will appear at all. After all, it comes from a Russian studio in Moscow and that the western world does not currently have the best relations with Russia due to the Ukraine war should be common knowledge.
So it’s quite possible that the game will become a victim of the economic sanctions and not appear here at all. It has been announced at least for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC along with Xbox Game Pass.
If it doesn’t appear with us, that would be a pity, at least visually, because as the latest Combat trailer shows, the title seems to have a lot to offer and is reminiscent of a wild mixture of Fallout and Bioshock. In the trailer we not only see bizarre enemies, but also weapons, lightning, telekinesis, enemy freezing and much more. But the game environments are also quite original and impressive.
Atomic Heart is set in an alternate 1950’s Soviet Union where robotics and other advanced technologies were developed during World War II. In itself a beautiful utopia. However, a system error in the Soviet plant № 3826 causes the machines to rebel against the humans. As private agent Major P-3 it is important to keep the consequences of this “system failure” as low as possible and to prevent secret information from leaking out.
