A February release date looks increasingly likely Ring of Elden The DLC is probably accurate, as recent Steam backend updates have referenced the DLC.
Nearly two years after the game’s release, it may finally be time to return to The Lands Between, as a recent update on Steam suggests that Elden Ring is getting ready for DLC. As spotted by zeta50 on Resetera, Elden Ring’s Steam backend was updated today, as listed on SteamDB. The update adds a new library of files that is not currently being used, but does have the DLC tag attached. There’s barely any other information attached, other than the exact time the update will be introduced, so it’s impossible to confirm that it’s the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, but you know, what else could it be?

It’s been almost a year since the release of “Shadow of the Trees” and we know nothing about it other than a trailer, which admittedly was pretty damn hard to come by. FromSoftware did just announce that it’s in development and that’s it, so to be honest, I’m personally a little eager to see more. The DLC will most likely be released in February, just like the base game’s original release date, which leaks from last year seemed to indicate.
The leak is an ad for some Elden Ring-themed controllers, which says they will be released in February 2024 “to coincide with the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.” If the leak is Really, this is definitely a mistake. . Of course, as always, it’s best to take these things with a grain of salt, but at least FromSoftware seems to be in the beginning stages of releasing it. The DLC could easily be announced via social media, but there’s always the possibility it could show up at an Xbox developer direct later this week or even at the PlayStation State of Play – though one of those hasn’t been announced yet, if at all all.
