“Avatar 3” hasn’t been released yet, but there are already exciting insights into the fourth film in the science fiction series. Director James Cameron reveals these details about the plot.
James Cameron’s two “Avatar” parts are among the most successful series in film history and further sequels are already planned. After the current filming of “Avatar 3”, we will continue with the fourth film so that it can be released as planned on December 21, 2029. But there will be a big special feature.
In a recently published exclusive interview with People Magazine The star director announced that there would be a big time jump of six years in the plot. While Jake and Neytiri’s children are still young in “Avatar 3”, they will appear as adults in the fourth film.
Director Cameron also confirmed in an interview with People Magazine that Kate Winslet (“The Regime”, “Titanic”) will return as Ronal in “Avatar 3”. Regarding her role, Cameron made some comparisons to real rituals of shamans that Winslet dealt with in preparation for the new film:
“When you see how they… [Winslet] In the film, she does this cleansing ritual to revive Kitty, and some of the things she’ll do in the third film, that’s based on actual practice.”
Anyone who wants to convince themselves of Kate Winslet’s shamanic talents as Ronal will have to be patient: “Avatar 3” will probably not start in Germany until December 2025. Until then you can watch the first part “Avatar – Departure for Pandora” and the sequel “Avatar: The Way of Water” on the Disney+ streaming service.
