Baldur’s Gate 3 has a release date and is coming to PlayStation 5

At State of Play today, Larian Studios announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 Will be available at PS5 launch.

The release date is set for August 31st, when it will also be coming to PC and ac.

A new trailer has also been released, showing for the first time one of the next-gen role-playing game’s villains, General Catherix Thom, a necromancer who leads an army of the undead to Baldur’s Gate. Som is voiced by character actor JK Simmons.

The trailer also includes several gameplay-related showcases, such as split-screen co-op and online co-op for up to four players on PS5, as well as full controller support at launch.

The deluxe edition and the collector’s edition were also shown, and wow, this is the collector’s edition.

All Early Access players on PC, including anyone who purchased the game between now and launch, have been automatically upgraded to the Deluxe Edition, which includes the following: Playable Bard Song Pack featuring songs from Divinity: Original Sin 2, exclusive Game dice skin, adventurer bag with supplies, digital download of the Baldur’s Gate 3 soundtrack, artbook and character sheet, and 72-hour early access to Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 1 starting August 28 on PS5.

It also comes with a pack of items inspired by Divinity: Original Sin 2. This contains the shapeshifter mask, which lets you change race and appearance on the fly, inspired by Fane; the Red Prince’s cape, inspired by the Red Prince; a playable Lute of the Merryweather Bard, inspired by Lohse, and a weapon called the Needle of A dagger from the Outlaw Rogue, inspired by Sebille, a headdress called Bicorne of the Sea Beast, inspired by the Beast, and a painting from Rivellon, a collection of paintings from the entire world of Forgotten Realms.

The Collector’s Edition is pretty good and includes the following for $260:

By pre-ordering the Collector’s Edition, you’ll also receive the Deluxe Edition content, and PlayStation 5 players will get 72 hours early access to Act One.
