At the end of March we got the news that Larian Studios had no plans to add expansions or create a sequel for Baldur’s Gate 3. This was sad news because fans were hoping for a lot more content. The news also came with another important announcement: they were going to slow down on updates until they were completely finished. There didn’t seem to be any big plans on the horizon.
Larian Studios did have plans to hit the brakes, but not too much. Patch 7 will arrive next September with an insane amount of content and much-desired additions: improvements for split-screen mode, improvements for Honor Mode, official mod editor, more endings and a major bug fix, among others.

“Patch 7 will not be the final update for Baldur’s Gate 3. We still have a few things up our sleeves,” they say in the Steam patch notesIt seems that Larian Studios has changed its mind about hitting the brakes, because there are still some very important and desired features to come: crossplay and the much-requested photo mode. And who knows what else they have planned or will come up with along the way!
The section in which they announce all this is called “This is not a goodbye.” Larian Studios has made it clear to its fans that they will continue working on Baldur’s Gate 3
