Baldur’s Gate III is undoubtedly one of the winners of the year and is now finally available on Xbox. The question of whether the role-playing game will come to Xbox Game Pass is still floating around.
Even before the release of Baldur’s Gate III for Xbox Series It hasn’t landed there yet and it looks like it won’t (at least in the foreseeable future).
In an interview with colleagues from IGN
He also immediately gives the reason, or at least a reason: “We made a big game, so I think there’s a fair price to pay for it, and I think that’s fine. We don’t ask for any additional microtransactions, so you get what you pay for. It’s a big one Game with a lot of meat. So I think it should stay as it is. That’s the only way we can continue to develop other games.”
This should be absolutely understandable, especially since Larian Studios has so far worked independently with the Vincke couple as the main shareholders, who certainly do not want to share their hard-earned money and do not want to miss out on income. Aside from that, there’s probably little need for Baldur’s Gate III to attract more players via Game Pass. The game has sold well – the early access version alone has already been purchased 2.5 million times. Unfortunately, there are no concrete figures yet for the final release on PC and PS5.
Apart from that, there is likely to be great interest in pocketing every cent of sales that is possible. After all, Baldur’s Gate III is unlikely to be the last project from Larian Studios and as you can see from the role-playing game, the studio could push further boundaries for it and that is only possible with a lot of gravel.
