According to online records from Japan’s pension service, Bandai Namco appears to have lost more than 100 employees since April 2024. After splattering rough spots on the video game giant, the employees left without a big fanfare.
First discovered and reported by Amber V in Automaton Media, 117 developers left the company – so people left the company in just 10 months under Bandai Namco's pension salary program. What teams these employees belong to and the competitions they are working on are still a mystery.

During that time, Bandai Namco struggled in some ways in the video game department. The company's latest MMORPG release, Blue Protocol, was off-line after its release. This, in turn, cancels the Amazon release of Western version. Some Blue Protocol developers stand out from the company and choose to keep the spirit of the game alive Blue Protocol: Star Resonancea spiritual successor to the game developed at Tencent subsidiary Bokura, brought part of the Blue Agreement team to the ride.
In addition to closing the Blue Agreement, Bandai Namco Online was dissolved and included in Bandai Namco. Staff from Bandai Namco Online are trapped in this dilemma between projects and are likely to account for a large portion of these departures. But given that there were no official announcements or lists of leaving employees between last year and April, no one could be sure.
While one can negatively impact the company based on that statistics, looking at the portrayal of Bandai Namco's recent official financial report is very different. In the February 5 report, the company announced a significant increase in operating profit compared to the same period last year. This is linked to a large distribution like Dragon Ball! Zero has recently passed only 5 million zeros for sale. So it seems that things are at least going well across the company.
What do you think are the reasons for these departures? Do you like me, attribute the loss to big misses like the Blue Agreement, or can you blame something else? Let us know below!
