Battlefield 2042 is now official, but not all details about the upcoming shooter highlight are known yet. Among other things, the announcement of a game mode is still missing, but an insider already has information on this in the hindquarters.
After there was plenty of speculation about the shooter in the run-up to the official launch of Battlefield 2042, a number of details are now known. However, all information is not yet available. For example, the last game mode that EA would like to introduce at a later date is still missing. But an insider is already rushing forward with the first information.
This is Tom Henderson, who is considered one of the most trustworthy insiders in the game industry when it comes to the Call of Duty and Battlefield shooter series. Most recently he had leaked the name of the latest Call of Duty in advance with Vanguard; in isolation, however, it was very often correct in the past. Now he claims: The last missing mode of Battlefield 2042 will be called “Battlehub”.
According to Henderson, the mode will be “the ultimate sandbox experience”. Overall, it should be a more fun than competitive game mode; So it will not be a question of balancing the game elements down to the last detail. The insider also says that “Battlehub” is used to gamble on well-known maps that will be reissued for the new Battlefield 2042. Older vehicles and weapons from the franchise should also be used – a main reason why the mode will not have the best balance. As an example, he cites that a tank from Battlefield 1 against a tank from Battlefield 3, for example, is a rather unequal duel.
Although a lot of remastered content is used, the mode will still be based on the new Battlefield 2042 engine. In addition, a system with specialist classes should be used compared to the more classic class system. The number of players is in most cases limited to 64 gamers, but some cards can also accommodate 128 players.
Last but not least, Henderson says that the Battlehub mode should be a separate download compared to Battlefield 2042; However, to gamble it will still be necessary to purchase the full version. In addition, the Battlehub mode should receive an update with every Battle Pass Season.
The official confirmation of all this information is of course still pending; We will keep you up to date!
DICE had previously announced that Battlefield 2042 will receive three game modes. With “All-Out Warfare” and “Hazard Zone” two of them have already been presented. The presentation of the third mode is expected from EA Play Live on July 22nd. Battlefield 2042 itself will be released on October 22, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
