Somehow the unlikely event occurred and Battlefield 2042 developed into a popular shooter after all. That’s why there is now a seventh season, and it will start soon.
Next week, namely on March 19, 2024, Season 7 will start in the shooter Battlefield 2042. Publisher Electronic Arts and the development team at DICE have now officially confirmed this. The new season is called “Turning Point” and includes on-site battles between all factions as well as expanded environmental destruction.
Two new maps are included, including “Port” – a new map that takes you to Chile in the Atacama Desert. In the fight to control the region and capture a key water reservoir, Russian troops have allied themselves with a new enemy known as the Thousand Petals Coalition. The map’s suburban setting is intended to feature a mix of infantry and vehicular combat and is inspired by previous Battlefield History maps, including Arica Harbor (Battlefield: Bad Company 2), Assault on Karkand (Battlefield 2) and Amiens (Battlefield 1).
The second new map is called “Stadium”, but will only be released during the season and not right at the start. A pure infantry experience awaits you here with intense close-quarters combat in Breakthrough, Conquest, Rush, Team Deathmatch and Free For All modes. “Stadium” was previously part of the “Hourglass” map and will now be a standalone map with an updated look – something the community has often requested.
Away from the new maps, there are also several new objects in Season 7. On the weapon front there is the AK 5C assault rifle with a good balance of firepower and precision, the SCZ-3 submachine gun as a close combat option and the light MG DFR Strife. There is also the Predator SRAW, a wire-guided missile for eliminating land and aircraft, and the XFAD-4 Draugr, a modern bomber armed with EMP bombs and radar-guided missiles.
Of course, a Battle Pass is also back at the start, which gives you over 30 free levels of weapons, a gadget and more. There are additional cosmetic items in the paid premium version. Year 1 Pass owners who did not play the previous two seasons immediately unlocked all hardware from Seasons 5 and 6 – including VHX D3 (assault rifle), G428 (DMR), BFP.50 (handgun), YUV-2 Pondhawk (vehicle), health and ammo bags, grenade variants and more.
To celebrate the announcement of Season 7, it will be available on all platforms from March 21st to 24th free access period about Battlefield 2042, so that if you are interested you can watch the shooter again or for the first time safely.
