Battlefield 2042 disappointed you and the beta of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 didn’t really convince you either? Then you can try out another multiplayer shooter in just a few days: World War 3 starts the open beta.
After a restart, the game has been in closed beta for a good year now and is now open to all interested players. When exactly it starts, who can already play today and what else you need to know, we summarize for you in this article.
World War 3: Trailer for Beta wants to convince Battlefield fans
World War 3: When does the Open Beta start?
The World War 3 Open Beta kicks off on September 29, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Starting today, you can download and play the multiplayer shooter for free via Steam. A purchase, as was previously the case for the closed beta, is no longer necessary.
However, players who have previously purchased one of the Early Access packs will not be left empty-handed. You can get started with the open beta today, September 26th. However, game progress from the closed beta has been reset, so it’s a fresh start for those players too.
What content is in the Open Beta?
Die World War 3 open beta includes the full game including all maps, weapons and game modes. The latter includes a classic team deathmatch mode for up to 20 players, as well as a conquest mode for up to 40 players, in which, among other things, vehicles are used.
By the way, a look at the upcoming beta can be worthwhile, if you can turn a blind eye from time to time:

Also, from September 26th to October 6th, there will be additional experience points to level up faster.
When does the open beta end?
There is no date for this yet – and there is a good reason for that. World War 3 will be playable for free not only during but also after the open beta. The developers rely on a Free2Play model for financing, including the now obligatory battle pass for the current season.
World War 3: The Battlefield competitor shows the many weapon options at the beta start
As is usual with other Free2Play games, the Open Beta of World War 3 is a kind of pre-release, after the Closed Beta previously served as Early Access. This also means that your progress should not be reset in the future.
Now the question is: will you take a look at the World War 3 Open Beta, or are you completely indifferent to multiplayer shooters at the moment? Have you perhaps already had experience with the closed beta? Write it to us in the comments!
