In recent months, the Lethal Company phenomenon has been hard to miss. However, this game, which has become extremely popular on Twitch, would be a scam on mobile.
Over the past few months, the game Lethal Company has been all the rage on Twitch. We’re talking about almost 240,000 concurrent players on Steam, shortly after its release in October. The principle is simple: we play as a group that is responsible for recovering as many pieces of jewelry as possible from old warehouses. Each item is then resold for money. Be careful, however, because the locations are full of all kinds of monsters. It is a real game that combines horror and comedy and where communication with your team is the key to success. Since its sensational launch on PC, Lethal Company is also available on mobile devices, but beware of scams.
Lethal Company, a scam?
You may be one of the thousands of people who have tested the Lethal Company game on mobile devices. However, be careful because: “This is probably a scam,” informs the developer and creator of the original software, Zeekerss. In fact, this is not the official title, but a copy made without permission. On download platforms you can easily find the name of the designer of this clone. It is a certain Aytac Kahveci with no other software listed. He works with the publishing house Double Cleaning LLC, which also has no other orders.
Rest assured, although the Lethal Company mobile application is not legal, it has not caused any problems so far. However, precautions must be taken. On the discord Officially, moderators asked users not to post links to fake games. “We don’t want people to suffer from the underhanded and malicious intentions that may lie behind this operation.”, explains one of them. In addition, Aytac Kahveci’s legal notice indicates that the confidentiality practices of the application may include the processing of data. This means that it is able to collect player information to track them on other websites.
A real mobile game?
So far, the creator of Lethal Company has not made any further comments about his game’s clone. It is unclear whether legal action will be taken, possibly in court. However, it’s also possible that Zeekers is currently working on a true mobile version of the title, as it is still in high demand among fans. For now they have to make do with the PC version and the release of Patch 47. The latter includes leaderboards, challenges and even more monsters. Zeekers has already announced many more additions up to version 50, including map variants.
