Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer mode is a work in progress, but even at this early stage it’ll be able to put 20 players on a single map, paving a proper online avenue for chooms to rise to fame with their compatriots.
The mod, developed by one person and named CyberMP, is still in its early stages after being tested by a YouTuber and several other users: the player models still don’t have the correct animations, for example. But even so, it works. This initial result brings hope to players who have been eager to add cooperative (and even competitive) elements to CD Projekt Red’s open-world sci-fi game.

IGN first spotted this, noting that the project shows promise even in its early stages. YouTuber Juicehead said the experience encountered few online issues, stating that the experience was “almost perfect” in terms of connectivity and syncing.
Multiplayer was originally an official component of Cyberpunk 2077, with studio employees describing it as a “standalone product”. However, years later, this part of the game was ultimately scrapped in favor of other fixes and the excellent Phatom Liberty expansion pack. However, thanks to open modding support for the game, players and creative minds have been able to change the game to their own will. That includes CyberMP, as well as various other projects from like-minded people around the world.
