While the fourth opus is long overdue, here’s a concept for a remake for BioShock, the first of the name under Unreal Engine 5, that really makes you want to see it.
Released in 2007, the true masterpiece of 2K Games under the direction of the legendary Ken Levine was entitled to a remaster in 2016. But this one clearly doesn’t live up to this vision of a remake under Unreal Engine 5. The iconic Rapture from BioShock is the very name in a majesty you’ve never seen before.
A slap in the face from Big Daddy with this concept of BioShock Remake under Unreal Engine 5
Without any official news on BioShock 4, fans of Ken Levine’s work will have to focus in the relatively near future on his new upcoming project Judas, a game that looks very promising. Despite everything, it is difficult to choose the extremely impressive BioShock, the first of its kind that left a lasting mark on video games in 2007. To pay tribute to him, Nekumanesh, a former artist of strong titles such as Halo Infinite or Immortals of Aveum, forks off a concept of a remake of this one on the Unreal Engine 5.
Thanks to the amazing capabilities of Epic Games’ engine, a replacement for the legendary underwater city of Rapture overwhelms us with its abysmal majesty. This had already impressed the world in 2007, and more recently in 2016 with the BioShock remaster. But to see this atmosphere enhanced by cutting-edge graphic technologies is a whole different slap in the face.
We almost wish that this concept would continue and become a standalone game. Unfortunately, that will not be the case in BioShock 4. Rapture will be stuck in the deep while being a game field divided in two. Above, a free society living in abundance, below, the exact dark opposite ruled by a tyrannical hand. That’s all we know about it for now. Let’s hope the result lives up to the very high expectations.
