Cult developer Blizzard Entertainment has apparently decided on its next big project. This is now being hired on a large scale.
Blizzard Entertainment is responsible for many well-known game series such as WarCraft, StarCraft and Overwatch, but when it comes to new brands, they haven’t had the luckiest hand recently. A long-planned new open-world survival IP has been canceled after years of development – now what? Apparently the studio has now found a new project that should be stubbornly pursued and implemented.
This is suggested by numerous new large-scale job advertisements that have now been placed online. Blizzard Entertainment, which was also recently noticed through job cuts, wants to fill 72 new jobs. This includes a number of positions in the company’s administration, but 43 of them are assigned to a specific game or series of games from Blizzard.
A dozen of them ultimately revolve around an “unannounced game” that is specifically mentioned. There are also important and leading positions to be filled for this, such as Creative Director, Narrative Director or Senior Art Director. The following job advertisements appear in this context:
- Creative Director
- Narrative Director
- Senior Art Director
- Senior Producer, Tech
- Design Director, Combat AI
- Senior 3D Artist
- Principal Designer, Missions
- Principal Designer, Combat
- Design Director, Missions
- Principal Environmental Artist
- Principal Animator
- Associate Art Director, Characters
Unfortunately, the descriptions do not yet reveal what the new title from Blizzard Entertainment will be about. But one thing is certain: After the new survival IP was set, a new project within the development studio has apparently received the final green light and is now to be implemented. We will of course keep you up to date on this!
