We haven’t really heard much about the Borderlands film adaptation recently, but now there is another sign of life in the form of two pictures with Cate Blanchett as Lilith.
Update:
And now the complete trailer is here and shows you around two minutes of chaos and stupid sayings:
Original message:
Haven’t heard anything about the Borderlands film adaptation in a long time. The last big news about this came in July last year, namely with the announcement of the release date in cinemas, which is known to be August 9, 2024, if nothing comes up.
At People Two new photos have now emerged. The first picture shows Cate Blanchett in her role as Lilith with flaming red hair and rustic clothes and the similarities to her role model are actually unmistakable.
In the second image we see Blanchett and a few more characters from the game staring into a hole. Joining Blancett are Kevin Hart as soldier Roland, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Jamie Lee Curtis as scientist Tannis and Jack Black as (the voice of) Claptrap.
And because it’s so beautiful, Jamie Lee bludgeoned Curtis on her Instagram account In addition to these two pictures, the cinema poster for the film is also out, which also shows all the characters.
Everything looks quite appealing, now we just have to hope that the film doesn’t turn out to be a mess. As far as costumes and presentation are concerned, the whole thing at least looks quite promising and close to the original. Based on the Gearbox video game, the film adaptation will focus on Lillith, who travels with her crew to the planet Pandora to rescue the daughter of business tycoon Atlas.
A first trailer is also scheduled to be released today, but so far there is already a short teaser as an incentive and it is… colorful and bright. Like Borderlands.
