Taito's comeback continues the revival of its most famous series. Although slim, the ancient magic still exists.
It's been a great year for a comeback, so if you miss one of the most outstanding of all of them, you will be forgiven. Yu Suzuki and Hideo Kojima returned to the front line of game developers and dominated the headlines, but Taito's resurrection seemed a bit low-key. First, we have the impeccable Darius Cozmic Collection, then Ninja Warriors, and now the giants of the early arcade world may return with their most famous series. And it's a joy to find Bubble Shooter (the fourth outing in name) as glorious as ever.

It hasn't really changed much over the years, which helps. You can see this with your own eyes by playing the original 1986 work, including as a bonus released at the beginning, and a strong reminder that the late Fukio & # 39; MTJ & # 39; Mitsuji did it, so this is the first time . From the simplicity of the task at hand-clearing the enemy's screen to advance to the next-to the full tactile sensation, Bubble Bobble's design is full of happy alchemy. Trapped the monster in the foam and then eject it with Bub or Bob's jagged spine- popular! Playing Bubble Bobble is like piercing a sensational bubble wrap, it's still timeless fun.
Bubble Bobble 4 Friends doesn't mess up the formula at all. Supports up to four players (as the title may imply-or may imply that this is the fourth installment in the series, which seems a bit vague considering the many spin-offs and restarts over the years) The battle for memory and symphony is every 10 levels Return to enemies full of screens. There are 100 levels in total, but you may find that halving the last 50 levels is the first tougher mix of the "Family Friendly" level 50. Adding a price point to games that are only slightly below the full level pricing, you might think Taito is optimistic here.
It's all fair, but spending a few minutes at Bubble Bobble 4 Friends' company is enough to dispel my own concerns. Bubble Bobble can still do it, this is an elegant update to the original formula. The aesthetics are pleasing, each theme takes place around a unified theme, each world takes place in the child's bedroom, the level is made up of abandoned blocks and various other toys, and members of Taito's chamber band Zuntata provided Lively soundtrack, as well as old and new collections. Everything is simple-the texturing remains simple, the design itself is faithful to the excellent original work-and even if updated, it still feels like it used to be. It's like the unearthed Dreamcast sequel to the original 80s. I think this is commendable.
