First the Pokémon Direct and now also a stream to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate the day everyone expected a Direct. Nintendo is playing with our feelings.

There was increasing evidence that the first major and, above all, general Nintendo Direct of the year will be broadcast on January 16, the day after tomorrow. First, the dedicated Pokémon Direct dampened expectations last week, then quickly fueled hope that Nintendo would remain true to its tradition and broadcast an ordinary Direct a week later. Several hints from third-party developers made it almost clear: We can expect a presentation in the next few days.
Now Nintendo is again causing despair among its fans. Because on January 16, instead of a Direct, an approximately 35-minute stream will now be broadcast, in which Masahiro Sakurai will unveil and demonstrate the fifth and last fighter of the first fighter pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The broadcast should take place at 3 p.m. German time.
But who knows. Nintendo knows exactly what the expectations are and is certainly aware of the desire for news. Maybe we will only be trolled one more time and the actual Direct, which of course has yet to be announced, will be shown immediately before. That would be an announcement tomorrow.
On 16/01 at 15:00 CET, join #SmashBrosUltimate director Masahiro Sakurai for a roughly 35 minute-long livestream featuring an in-depth look at an upcoming DLC fighter! The fighter will be unveiled in the video.
