In the film Buzz Lightyear (2022), the Space Ranger makes his first flight for Star Command. Unfortunately, the mission goes wrong. Our hero is then thrown 62 years into the future and lands on a planet where machines have taken over.

The toy and the ranger share a common history but are not the same entity.
