A free weekend in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is coming soon, according to a new report from usually well-informed insider Tom Henderson. According to the insider, who does not disclose his sources as usual, this should increase in the new month of December.
According to the source, Activision has finalized plans for a free-to-play weekend for the period December 15-19, 2022. The promotion could thus coincide with the mid-season update, as another rumor has it that it will be released a day before on December 14, 2022. In both cases, official confirmation by Activision and Infinity Ward is still pending.
Activision organizes such free-to-play weekends quite frequently – and often these actually come in a timely context for a more important update. The information from Henderson also makes sense in this respect – but there is still a residual risk that it could not happen that way.
Side note: Loud Insider Gaming there will also be an update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on December 6th; however, the contents of this patch have not been communicated.
