There are currently some rumors about the future of the shooter heavyweight Call of Duty. Now there is an official statement from Activision.
What’s next for Call of Duty? There are currently some rumors and assumptions about the future of the shooter series. For example, no new main part is planned for the coming year. Activision has now responded to the discussions and published a statement that we received by email. It says:
“We have an exciting lineup of premium and free Call of Duty experiences for this year, next year and the year after. Reports to the contrary are incorrect. We look forward to sharing more details with you when the time comes has come.”
The premium experiences mentioned certainly include the successor to Modern Warfare from 2019, which will be released this year. The free experiences, on the other hand, probably include the sequel to Call of Duty: Warzone, which was also announced for 2022. However, the rumor that no new main part of Call of Duty will appear in 2023 is not off the table. It may be a while before there is clarity on this matter…
Initially only on the PlayStation, players can look forward to the new Combat Pack content for Season 2 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone.
