On Tuesday evening, Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games revealed the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Vanguard. We give you all the important information.
Yesterday evening the development team from Sledgehammer Games presented the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Vanguard in detail. As part of an almost 30-minute long video, the focus was on maps, weapons, fresh modes and new game elements, among other things.
You can expect a total of 20 maps that are located in different locations of the Second World War, for example on the Eastern Front. The surroundings are largely destructible, so that your weapons leave bullet holes or dismantle walls. This should provide new tactical possibilities in combat.
For the fight you equip yourself with a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, two grenades and three perks. Thanks to an extensive Gunsmith editor, you can personalize your ratchets with numerous improvements, including sights, magazines or barrels. You can also choose between different calibers for the cartridges. The Blindfire has also been added, with which you can fire over cover without aiming.
In addition to the well-known game variants such as Team Deathmatch, Kill confirmed or Dominion, there are also new ones: In addition to Champion Hill from Alpha, Patrol is a hardpoint-like mode in which you have to stay within a moving, colored area in order to gain points for your Team to achieve.
Recently, you can choose one of three settings for the so-called Combat Pacing before each match: Tactically it is similar to the classic 6v6, Assault offers a balanced pace for 20 to 28 players and Blitz relies on full throttle action with 28 to 48 people. But you can also allow a mixture of all three types of pacing.
They also gave a brief look at Warzone. Shortly after the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard, a new map is to appear, which is set on an island in the Pacific. A short teaser showed villages, caves and a jungle. Cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-gen support have also been confirmed.
A first preview of the multiplayer mode will be available next weekend:
