Activision Announces Development Call of Duty: Warzone For mobile.
According to a job listing, the company is putting together a team to develop “a AAA mobile experience th at brings the thrilling, fluid, and massive action of Call of Duty: Warzone to players on the go.”
The company is looking to fill various positions on this “ambitious mission” to bring a “massive battle royale experience” to mobile devices.
Open positions range from production to engineering, design, art, marketing and more at multiple in-house studios including Solid State Studios, Beenox, Digital Legends and Demonware.
As you know, Activision has launched Call of Duty: Mobile, but it’s a separate game entirely. CoD: Mobile is a hugely popular game, with an estimated 56.5 monthly active users and an average of 6.5 million daily users. Launched on October 1, 2019, this free-to-play game has over 2 million installs.
On the second day of the launch, the number of installations reached 20 million, and the number of installations on the fourth day exceeded 35 million. In its first week of release, it hit 100 million downloads, and within a few months, it generated about $500 million in revenue.
As of February this year, the game has generated more than $1.5 billion in lifetime player spend.
CoD: Mobile is developed by Tianmei Studio, a subsidiary of Tencent’s Pokemon Unite.
