The mobile spin-off Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has finally been available recently – and the shooter is also giving Activision Blizzard its first considerable sales on smartphones and tablets.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been officially available since March 21, 2024 and lets you experience battle royale gameplay on iOS and Android on the go. The interest of the countless Call of Duty fans was of course great and the first figures available shortly after the release now suggest that another relevant revenue driver is developing for publisher Activision Blizzard.
According to surveys by AppMagic Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile generated more than $1.4 million in sales in the first four days since its release alone. If you include the early rollout in some other countries on March 20th, then the game has sales of over $1.6 million.
Even before this release phase, there were playable pre-release builds of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile in selected territories, which add further sales to the survey. Overall, the title should be around $2.2 million, even though the title has only been on the market for a few days – and despite some existing in-game problems that Activision still has to address.
Anyone who takes part in the current launch event Operation: Day Zero actually spends money on in-game purchases, especially in the USA. 47 percent of sales, or around $1.1 million, were invested there. Following in the country-specific analysis are Chile with a share of 9 percent and then Germany, which, like Australia, has 8 percent.
But the truth is also: Despite the good numbers, Warzone Mobile got off to a worse start than Call of Duty: Mobile in terms of sales. When it launched in 2019, this title brought in a whopping $4.2 million in sales within the first four days.
