sounds like Callisto Agreement Will go all out for the game, as it’s clearly inspired by “real life examples of horror and gore.”

Callisto Protocol is slated to launch in late 2022, and so far it doesn’t look like a game for the faint of heart. Thanks to Geoff Keighley, we got our first look at the gameplay last week at Summer Games Fest, which featured a lot of dismemberment and body stomping. Now, in an interview with PCGamesN, the chief creative officer amazing distance studio

Chris Stone explains some of the game’s inspirations.

Unsurprisingly, Stone named titles like silent Hill and resident Evil as “obvious influences”, but noted that the team also took “a lot of inspiration from films like The Thing and Event Horizon”. Stone also said French and South Korean films were also influential, saying both “really strengthened their presence in the horror genre.”

More controversially, however, Stone said the game was also inspired by actual gore and horror. “We found ourselves seeing a lot of real-life examples of horror and gore,” said Stone, who also worked as an animation director. dead end“While these studies are far less fun, they are some of the most memorable and rewarding when it comes to creating realistic visuals and experiences.”

As PCGamesN pointed out, Mortal Kombat 11 has previously drawn ire because developers also worked on real-world gore during its development. Hope Striking Distance Studios takes proper steps to handle this kind of imagery.

In addition to choosing to take inspiration from the horror and gore of the real world, a large part of the inspiration is apparently Dead Space, created by Glenn Schofield, who is now directing the Callisto Protocol.
