The already well-filled catalogue of the French service Canal+ will soon be expanded to the delight of its subscribers.
Last year, Canal+ signed a multi-year deal to include Apple TV+ films and series in its offering at no additional cost. This year, the French service is making another big splash and is one of the hottest news in the small world of streaming.
Canal+ will soon welcome the maximum amount of content
As a reminder, a certain HBO Max will arrive in France on June 11, just in time to devour the second season of House of the Dragon, expected later that same month. This will also be the case for the second season of The Last of Us, instead of Prime Video for the premiere. But some streaming consumers may sigh at the thought of having to subscribe to yet another platform.
But good news for Canal+ subscribers: HBO Max will be available on this channel from June 11! In particular, subscribers to the Ciné Series, Rat+ Ciné Series, Friends & Family and Intégrale packages will be able to benefit from it at no additional cost. The offer is Max Standard, i.e. two users, without advertising. It will finally be possible to take advantage of the HBO Max option as an extra if you are not subscribed to the other plans.
An attractive offer on paper, but not necessarily given
However, this perspective entails certain costs: $29.99 per month for the Ciné Series subscription, for example. The basic offer costs $22.99 and includes Apple TV+. However, to benefit from HBO Max productions, you will have to subscribe to an option that will probably increase the total bill to around $30.
Canal+ is definitely going to get even cheaper from June 11. The Max Standard plan would in principle be enough to access the platform’s entire catalog, which includes The Last of Us and House of the Dragon, as well as Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, the Harry Potter adaptations and the excellent Euphoria series, among others. Together with the Apple TV+ catalog, this is a pretty good way to combine various services in a single subscription, however expensive it may be.
