The PS5 physical version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has come under scrutiny, and the news doesn’t bode well for players without an internet connection.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 spent a lot of money to have two footballers in the game but obviously doesn’t offer a decent boxed edition.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: No Connection, No Game
Playing it testing the physical versions of your favorite titles, it was interested in one of the biggest releases of the year: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. That would only include the PS5 boxed edition of the software, according to the Twitter account 72.23 MB of data on the Blu-ray Disc.
So if you don’t have an internet connection, you’ll end up buying a useless brick that will eventually be used to wedge a door or keep birds out of your yard. Indeed, these 72.23 MB are not enough, since Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 weighs around 100 GB in total, and this is without Warzone 2, which will not be available until next month.
As in the columns from underlined VGCActivision would only use 1% of the capacity of a PS5 disc for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Whether this also applies to the PS4, Xbox Series X|S and One versions is unknown, but it is a possibility.
Having studios provide patches to improve their copy is one thing, but not putting the title on disc at all is another. And as pointed out by Lance McDonald, who is known for messing around with all kinds of games, 99.9999% of productions sold commercially are playable without downloading anything.
