Capcom has presented its business figures for the first quarter of the current fiscal year and should be satisfied. The release of Resident Evil Village produced excellent results.
Thanks to the release of Resident Evil Village, Capcom was able to report record-breaking figures for the first financial quarter of fiscal year 2021/2022. The sales revenues could therefore be more than doubled compared to the previous year.
The mathematical increase in sales is 104.1 percent compared to 2020; in absolute terms, the company grossed 48.4 billion yen (about $ 440 million). This also has an impact on the profit, because it could be increased even more. The plus here is 121.9 percent year-on-year to now 17.3 billion yen or around 157.5 million dollars.
Capcom attributes the quarterly success above all to the release of the new survival horror title Resident Evil Village, which sold very well and has over four million copies that have already been sold. In addition, Monster Hunter Rise, which is now over seven million sales, also made a significant contribution to the good result.
Last but not least, the continued efforts to further strengthen the purely digital business and to ensure growth here have also paid off.
There are seven things you should keep in mind before starting Resident Evil Village. They could save you many deaths.
