An update to the CD Projekt RED support page outlines how Stadia users can download their Cyberpunk 2077 save.
With Stadia shutting down in January, people were understandably concerned about their save game files. Those who play Cyberpunk 2077 and wish to continue playing their game on another platform, simply follow the CDPR and use Google Takeout to do the following.
- Open takeout.google.com.
- In the Create New Export section, click Deselect All and select Stadia. Press “Next” to continue.
- Choose your preferred destination and “Export Once” frequency. Select “.zip” file type and “2 GB” size. Press “Create Export”.
- Download the export from the destination selected in the previous step.
- Find the downloaded archive on your PC. extract it.
- Your Cyberpunk 2077 save game will be located in the following path: …/Takeout/Stadia/GAMING/GAME_SAVE/
- Note that there may also be save files from other games in there.
- Each game save file is located within an archive. Extract them into separate folders.
- To use the extracted archive on the PC version, just copy-paste these folders to the following path: %userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077
- Make sure the files are not nested in another folder.
If you have a copy of the game on a supported console platform, you can use cross-progress on any PC platform and sync it with your GOG account to transfer your progress to the console.
After completing the last step, launch Cyberpunk 2077 on your PC. Make sure you are logged into REDlauncher as this is the account used to store cross platform archives. Make sure cross-platform saves are enabled in the in-game settings, then load the latest save file from Stadia (or whatever else you’re copying). Then, save the game again.
If you are logged into the same GOG account, this save file should be synced with the cloud and displayed on your console.
Good luck!
