In the daily newspaper of June 28, we talk about the latest statement from CD Projekt’s head of communications. The daily is online!

Michał Platkow-Gilewski, communications manager at CD Projekt, said Cyberpunk 2077 received way too harsh reviews when it was released in 2020, and for most players it was just pure disparagement of the title. As a reminder, Cyberpunk 2077 arrived on PC and consoles in December 2020 and was highly anticipated as CD Projekt had taken over the world after its excellent The Witcher 3. But disillusionment came very quickly: if on PC the game was in a suitable state for large configurations, on consoles the software was simply not playable. Between the outdated tech, the constant crashes, the assets without textures, picking up NPCs, etc. The title was so broken that PlayStation decided to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from the store, which was a world first for a game of this magnitude. Still, after years of fixes, the title is in better shape than it was three years ago, and CD Projekt is betting heavily on the game’s future expansion, Phantom Liberty, scheduled for September 26, 2023, to win back player appreciation.
