Extrem OK Games, the studio behind two excellent productions, Celeste and TowerFall Ascension, just teased their next title today.

Indeed, Extremely OK Games revealed the news through their official Twitter account. The studio, which is still run by Maddy Thorson, is currently working on it Earthblade, a pixel art exploration and action game.

It took us four prototypes to find Earthblade, and (…) now it seems optimistic to say out loud that Earthblade could be released within the next five years after Celeste’s release. The truth is, we don’t know how long it will take, just that it will take as long as it takes (and it will take a long time). Maddy Thorson

Unfortunately, the title, which is still very mysterious, doesn’t seem to land on our favorite machines. Maddy Thorson then made it clear on the Extremely OK Games official website that development of the game is still in its infancy.

I am very happy about this project. I can see everything in my head Not perfect – most of the details are still pretty blurry and I’m sure a lot will change along the way – but I can see the general shape of the title (…). It is now our duty to transform this fleeting, virgin mental object into a real, imperfect human object. We will be there and take this task slowly every day. As a reminder, TowerFall Ascension had a score of 17 out of 20 on our columns, and Celeste came off with a very nice 18 out of 20. Suffice it to say that we are impatiently waiting for this earth blade.
