Cheaper than the operating system itself: Mini PC with pre-installed Windows 11 for 122 dollars

For the price of Windows 11, AliExpress has a mini PC in its winter sale that already has the operating system pre-installed. We present you the deal.

Did you know that Windows 11 Home bei Microsoft Costs 145 dollars? That's one reason why it's almost impossible to buy new PCs with Windows 11 preinstalled for less. The emphasis here is on “fast” impossible.

Manufacturers probably get licenses much cheaper, otherwise the following deal on AliExpress would be impossible. During the winter campaign, you can use a voucher to pay 20 dollars less for a mini PC than the Windows 11 Home operating system alone costs from Microsoft – but Windows 11 is pre-installed according to the product page.

The features of the mini PC are contemporary for this price and very good compared to similar offers. The Intel N100 sets the pace as the processor. The successor N150 has recently been installed in new models. With a performance increase of 5 to 30 percent according to various online benchmarks, the surcharge of currently more than 50 dollars and therefore more than 40 percent is not necessarily advisable.

The N100 in the MaxMini B4 Plus has access to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. DDR4 is still normal in older models of mini PCs. With the only difference that the mini PC is equipped with DDR5, prices often start at 250 dollars. The real bargains are currently still with DDR4, although according to benchmarks the performance increase from DDR4 to DDR5 should be similar to that from N100 to N150.

An M.2 SATA SSD with 512 GB is installed as mass storage. Whether you would notice a difference to an NVMe SSD in everyday life or whether the processor is most likely to slow down the system in most processes is difficult to say and ultimately depends on the application. However, 512 GB is a lot for mini PCs in this price range. Most competitors have 256 GB, some only have 128 GB. You can retrofit a 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

When it comes to connections, the MaxMini B4 Plus can offer a lot. Not too much, but four Type A USB ports, two each 2.0 and 3.0, and one Type C USB port are decent. Together with two HDMI ports, up to three monitors in up to 4K can be connected. Ethernet (network, Internet) and a speaker-microphone combination jack are also available.

In general, the mini PC is suitable for home office, browsing and multimedia. The MaxMini B4 Plus is not suitable for games and performance-hungry programs, especially when it comes to graphics. However, at a price of just over 120 dollars, you are getting an extremely good deal, as the features including Windows 11 are top in this price range.
