I’ve always been just an observer of what’s going on in World of Warcraft. But I am always amazed at the brave stunts and new ideas that make their way into the respective extensions.
A loud “WTF ?!” escaped me as I read about the new level cap. From 120 back to 60? So actually to 50 first and then climb to the new maximum level of 60. Ouch! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of the adjustments that Blizzard has come up with for the Shadowlands. The WoW veterans and experts from Mein-MMO.de naturally treat all of them appropriately in the new special issue on World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.

Legendary items, just different
What I can’t praise enough is that Blizzard has apparently taken an example from my favorite MMO (do I have to give the name?). Because the Legendarys, who drove so many WoW: Legion players to the brink of madness (»NEVER drops what I want!«), Are returning – only that you can now easily make them yourself. Um. Let me delete that “just”. You can now craft the Legendarys. You can of course also read how this works in our special issue.
In general, crafting should get m ore importance in WoW again, including new manufacturing methods. So that you can get started straight away, we have appropriate guides in the booklet.

Tower of the Damned? Sounds sexy!
Incidentally, the Tower of the Damned is inseparable from the Legendarys. Torghast (really cool name, hats off!) Is exactly the name of the thing and it has a bit of a roguelike: The further you go, the stronger you get, but so do your opponents. And if you (too often) nipple … well. Roguelike hold, you know the principle.
The tower can also be compared a bit with the Maelstrom Arena in ESO, but unlike the arena, you can visit Torghast with a group and you don’t have to go in there alone.
In fact, you have to go in there, Torghast is tied to the main storyline, but you don’t necessarily have to fight your way to the end. But you can try. And, according to our authors and proven WoW connoisseurs, that actually makes a lot of fun.

A pact for life?
One of the biggest innovations in Shadowlands are the pacts. There are four of them and as soon as you have reached level 60, you decide to become a member of one of the clubs. The pacts come with exclusive mounts, pets, armor sets and skills such as the ability to quickly move from one position to another. Shadow Gate, the Venthyr’s signature ability, makes it possible.
And no, don’t worry, these are not pacts for life, you can change your affiliation, but then you have to do the pact tasks to prove your loyalty and get access to all the cool club stuff.

Guides, Guides, Guides
For the perfect start to the new add-on we have put together a large batch of guides for you:
- Class guides, of course. To all. Logical. Otherwise it would be stupid.
- Crafting guides, of course. Because of golden soil and such.
- Of course, instance guides too
- How the new level phase works
Pact not packages, Torghast not Torgast
Shadowlands once again brings many innovations to the game of constant change. We won’t let you down here either:
- What the new pacts are about
- Which world bosses give you where on the cap
- And a really comprehensive overview of what is actually going on in the Shadowlands
- Also: Look at other exciting MMOs that are already out or are coming soon

World bosses that are worthwhile
The Shadowlands come with four zones (each assigned to one of the new pacts). And in each of these zones a new world boss is up to mischief.
For each of the critters you need a raid that is as full as possible. But ideally, gathering people up is worth it, because the critters drop level 207 clothes – and that’s more than you can dust off in the instances.
Finally, I would like to point out the fact that Shadowlands – although what has now felt like the thousandth add-on for WoW – was able to book the most pre-orders to date. The main reason is not so pleasant, because it is probably called Corona. But hey, anything that gets us well through this time is… good.
With this in mind: take care of yourself and stay healthy.
